Advantages/Disadvantages of using PSA Mailer:

1. Its developed by SFI.
2. You can send any information quickly.
3. Its simple and very easy to follow.
4. You can send mails to multiple people at one go.
5. Your mails will be sent both to PSA's registered E-Mail and to PSA's
Team Mail In Box at SFI Affiliate Center.
6. 100% the mails reach the recipients.
7. Your mails will not go to: " Opted Out" or " Removed " members;
8. Your mails will not go to: " Wrong E-Mail Address as in both these cases
your mails get filtered automatically.
9. SFI recently introduced limits for using SFI Mailer System;
10. Attachments can not be sent;

Points to ponder when using Affiliates Registered E-Mail IDs:

1. Mail IDs can be wrong;
2. Mail can bounce back;
3. Read Receipt Option not provided by all Service Providers;
4. Mail can go to Spam Folder;
5. Unlimited mails can be sent;
6. Option to use different types of fonts, sizes, color, etc available;
7. Can create "Groups" with multiple mail ids;
8. Attachments can be sent with your mail

Conclusion:

Still, I would suggest sending mails using SFI Mailer System for the great advantages it offers. Further, by sending weekly mails, once a week, we get 30 Action VersaPoints also.

I don't know if either is better, it is really up to you how you contact you new PSAs.
If you use the Mailer, I do suggest that you use the ~FIRSTNAME~ which will put their individual name on the mailing they receive.

Personally, I contact my PSAs individually by E-Card to welcome them to my team.
Then, I follow up the next day with information on how to work their business using their email address.
This lets them know I really want to help them work their business.
It also lets me know if I have a correct email address for each new affiliate.
If they have not posted their correct email address, they probably will not be back to work on SFI.

Many people are surfing for a "Get Rich Quick" website, so they come and go.
We each are looking for PSAs that will really work at their SFI business by doing and
learning the SFI website. This is why the first month is so easy.
It lets your new PSAs learn what to do and to study the Start, SFI Basics, and the Launchpad.

We are all given the same chance, the tools, and training for free.
It's up to us if we become profitable or not.

In order to maintain a certain level of professionalism, in the beginning, you should use the tools provided by SFI to contact your PSAs. This will help the affiliate determine who is sending the message. You represent SFI, so an official SFI message from you will reinforce the idea that this is a business, and the message is related to the business.

As time progresses, and you get to know your PSA, you should be able to use whatever method you feel is appropriate for communication. For example, a personal email address would help if you are dealing with an individual and the SFI tools would be the best option for sending out messages to the entire group. If the PSA lives near you, it may be a good idea to take it a step further and reach out via the phone, but I would caution you to make sure you get to know the person first.

Basically, the progression goes like this. Start off with the PSA mailer and then move forward with other forms of communication as you get to know the person.

Communication is one of the most important tools we have. And for this, SFI offers us alternate means of contacting our PSAs.
Among the two you mention, none is to be excluded. We need to make appropriate use of PSA mailer and also the use of the "e-mail address".

1 -) Use of PSA mailer: we can use the PSAs mailer to draw the PSAs attention on a specific issue or news. We should not forget that the use of the PSA mailer is valued weekly and we get 30 VP. It is a very professionnal tool.

2-) For inactive PSa, you can only use their e-mail address as they do not log in the platform. Communicating with sleeping PSAs not frequently, may rouse some interest and they will come back to the business.

It is necessary to point out that when using the PSA mailer, the message sent goes to all PSAs either active or inactive PSAs.

Besides this tool of SFI, you can also use the Chat tool.

The better of two however, is the PSA mailer. This is because you have samples to choose from and guidelines provided for you to communicate effectively with your team without beating about the bush.
One of the travails of bloggers and email writers is not knowing what to write next or running out of ideas and sometimes this leads to plagiarism and burnout. These problems are solved in one fell swoop by the mailer and there's no need reinventing the wheel. If it works, it works period!

Staying connected with your PSAs plays a big role of not only in keeping the momentum of your personally referred team members in their personal and business growth but also most of all strengthening the relationship and foundation of your SFI organization.

You should not compare the two means of communicating to your PSAs and then pick one from the other as your only method of connecting to your PSAs, solely by preference. You should know when to apply each method of communication and each unique uses for advancing the growth of not only your own SFI business but most of all your whole SFI organization.

When to use the PSA Mailer:

- Send important updates about SFI’s news, changes in policies and about the latest innovation. Being up-to-date will help everyone in your team to be prepared and to be in time in making the necessary adjustments to avoid losing momentum of growing their SFI businesses.

- Communicate your organization’s marketing strategy. Share any new changes or important information that relates to marketing their SFI businesses.

- Send weekly tip and advice for your PSAs. Show them how you tackle a topic such as Marketing methods, Internet income course, etc., one at a time .

- Communicate to them the importance of widening their knowledge base. This is an important part of growing their SFI businesses that can’t be neglected. As your PSAs build and expand their own team, they’re going to make use of their knowledge and skills in this regard.

- Discuss effective methods in achieving your organization’s goal taking into consideration the ever changing world of marketing.

- Share your thoughts and ideas about hot threads from SFI Forum.

When to use your PSA’s email addresses:

- use personal email when dealing with your PSAs one on one. This gives you advantage to tailor your messages appropriately to your PSAs.

- Use personal email to your PSAs to address specific issues individually in regards to your PSA’s advancing the growth of his/her own SFI business.

- Discuss issues specifically related to your PSAs region/country and how you can support or help in finding solution.

- Use email to personalize your message, share your thoughts and ideas with your PSAs individually as it applies.

Contacting PSAs through SFI is easy and convenient, but the problem there is that if the PSAs does not log onto the site they are unlikely to receive your messages. This of course is not the case with E-Cards and Group Mails as these are sent to the PSAs via their emails as well. Stream messages are totally dependent on the PSAs logging in order to see them.

Contacting them directly via their email address is great for those who are inactive and do not log onto the site. As long as the email is correct and you have not been blocked or you messages do not go to spam they should receive your messages.

Contacting them by email can be time consuming but this is my preferred method of contacting those who are inactive. (Boy, I have lots of those) I have had some success reigniting some inactive PSAs via direct email.

I actually us both and I would recommend this to all – contact your PSAs through SFI as well as via email direct – especially the inactive ones.

In most cases it takes the same effort to achieve the same purpose; get your message to their emails and their SFI TeamMail inbox. This happens when you use the PSA Mailer and below is SFI explanation:

PSA MAILER enables you to quickly and easily send newsletters, training,
tips, and other messages to your PSAs (personally sponsored affiliates).

Messages are sent to both the PSA's registered e-mail address AND to the
PSA's "TeamMail" inbox at the SFI Affiliate Center.

And there's no need to worry about messages going to bad e-mail addresses or
opted-out affiliates as these are automatically filtered out for you.

As you can see from the above, it is better to use the PSA Mailer since the message goes both ways for the following reason:

1. Your PSAs that cannot receive your messages in their email addresses for one reason or the other, can access them once they login to their SFI accounts, assuming they do at least occasionally.

2. Similarly, those who do not login to their SFI accounts but can receive your messages in their email addresses will have the opportunity to read your messages and may therefore be encouraged to login to their SFI accounts.

3. No need to worry about messages going to bad e-mail addresses or opted-out affiliates as these are automatically filtered out for you, when you use the PSA Mailer.

4. SFI is always responsible for the messages you send through the PSA Mailer which is an advantage because you will not be accused of spamming because your PSAs have agreed to receive them when they joined SFI.

5. You will only receive the weekly 30 VP for sending group support message using the PSA Mailer but no VP for messages sent directly to email addresses.

Having said this, it is still necessary to point out that sending your messages directly to your PSAs emails is not a bad idea, especially when directed to those who are very active with their email accounts. This is because some of your PSAs who are more regular and active in their respective email environments than SFI's may access, read and respond to your messages quicker.

I know that it is always best to contact your PSAs through their email address as long as you are whitelisted. You have affiliates who don't log in everyday but check their email everyday. You can also find them on social networks like facebook when they are not even logging into SFI. There is a simple reason for this. They have not learned to prioritize their business. Many people are overwhelm when they log into the SFI center especially when they are new. There are 100s of links and they don't understand the significance of it all yet.

Therefore the best way for you to indoctrinate them to SFI is through short messages with no more than 3 points to their direct email address. If you try to email your PSAs using the mailer you may find that your messages are not getting read simply because that's another link to click! I always get a copy of my mails that I send to my team in my email and as long as your affiliate whitelists [email protected] they should be getting your messages without logging in. But if they have not whitelisted [email protected] then chances are they are not getting your mail at all. Top that off with not logging in frequently and there is a gross communication void. Even so, you should tell your PSAs to whitelist your email address so that your direct messages will land in their inbox otherwise, they will be in the spam or bulk folder which can be deleted without notice.

I believe that any mail you write to your downline through the Genealogy Mailer, goes directly to your downline's page as well as to their email address - so you do not need to send it separately. This way it will go to both places and will be more effective than writing to them from your address - as that will only go to their email address.

However, if you are wanting to send them a message - say in stream or messenger and you really want that they should see it - it would be better to send it to their email address from your email address, in the hope that they will open it. :)
