I have been using Gift cards very early, since I joined SFI and I have had a fairly decent success with them.

I am attracting both PSAs and PMRs. It is common that my PRMs become also my Affiliates. I encourage them to register with both Tripleclicks and SFI

Gift cards are intended for two kinds of markets:

(i) our warn market (people with whom we have some form of relationships through family, friendship, work, and business interactions) on the one hand;

(2) on the other hand, online marketing and promotions

For our warm market, a gift card is a good introduction in casual settings. It is important that we make sure that we have the corresponding redemption code handy to give out with the gift cards and clear procedures typed on index cards explaining how to redeem the gift card.

It does not serve any purpose to hand out a gift card without the redemption code and instructions where to go to redeem it.

On this point, one can say that hand to hand is a excellent method to distribute gift cards.

Online promotions and prospecting is another excellent method.
Through email marketing, blogs, business groups in social network websites such as Facebook and LinkedIn, you will find a large market of prospects who will be attracted to gift cards.

Here a caution is in order: Never display the redemption codes in random postings.

If you search the Forum posts, you will find stories of affiliates going through disappointing experiences because they made the redemption code available to public view. The gift cards were redeemed without any sales or registrations, and without even knowing who did it.

To protect yourself against this, always give them out to an individual with whom you have established a previous contact and through their private email.

At the same time its an effective tool. Used with wisdom it can help in furthering your business.

First thing to remember before distributing these cards is not to waste it, meaning not to be issued to unknown people and quite strangers to you. They may not know its value. Hence, this caution.

Then, to whom it can be distributed?

Please categorize people under following heads:

1. Family Members;
2. Relatives;
3. Close Friends;
4. Friends;
5. Colleagues;
6. Acquaintances;
7. Business contacts;

Make a Name List under each of these categories. Try to figure out their Family Back Ground, Earning Potential (Job or in business); Their likely interest in an Online Marketing Program, do they have a PC at Home, etc.

Then, narrow down to:

1. Who can be your prospective PSAs;
2. Who can be your prospective ECAs;
3. Who can be your prospective PRMs;
4. Again filter them & Rank them;

With this, now you have to decide whether you want to:

1. Build your Down line by bringing in PSAs; OR
2. You want to Introduce people just to TC Stores as PRMs;

Based on this, please go ahead & start distributing the valuable Gift Cards to the highly prospective PSAs or PRMs.

If you feel about best methods, I would suggest handing over the Gift Cards to these people in person. You can meet them personally, explain to them face to face; clarify things, explain how to redeem them, etc.

Even though, Digital version is also AVAILABLE, I would not suggest them for distribution. You need to send it by mail to people. But I always prefer meeting people in person. This way, you stand a very good opportunity to maximize the returns for your hard work and efforts.

Conclusion:

1. Please hand over the Gift Cards to people personally;
2. Do not issue them to strangers;
3. Keep a track on redemption;
4. Follow up, in case these remain unused;
5. Do not forget to validate them in case they expire.

TripleClicks gift cards cost money and you are running a business.

How you distribute these cards has to be done in the most economical way. You cannot afford to waste them regardless of how big your advertising budget is. I would not recommend leaving the cards around or 'forgetting' them in a taxi as others have said.

They may be called 'gift cards' but in reality they are advertising tools. You are not just giving them away, you are giving them away with the hope that the recipient will use it at TripleClicks and become your PRM or better still also a PSA. Its an investment.

The persons receiving the cards should be made well aware of what they are receiving. Tell them what its for and record their names and contact phone number/email for admin purposes and following up later on if they don't use the cards or further prospecting.

You should therefore 'gift' the cards to people either in person or online - to those you know or who are acquaintances, family members, friends, online contacts and friends.

The most important thing about gift card distribution is to explain what store they need to get into and was to understand instructions on how to redeem these cards. You must tell people that these cards cannot be redeemed for cash but it can be used to buy any kind of product that is worth up to $12.00.

Online distribution comes in handy because you can buy digital cards without having to spend money on shipping but in order to send these by email you need to desgn your own capture link with a page that explains what I spread mentioned above. The most important thing is that people know how to refer the TCredits but they also have to know all the benefits. The function of the capture link is to collect names and email addresses for you to enter into the gift card tracker once you distribute them.

Offline is using the physical cards and printing out a professional business letter using the Tripleclicks letterhead and envelope to advertise the Tripleclicks store and get referrals. In this one you give instructions on how to redeem but you also tell them to read the instructions in the back of the card. No method is best. There are many ways to distribute gift cards. It depends on the persons who receive them and what they actually do with them. I have found that the best method for distributing the TripleClicks gift cards was to hand them out to someone personally.

While talking about anything I bring up the subject of shopping on line for great products, or whatever fits in the conversation. When they show even a slight interest I will say something like:

“I can give you a gift card that you can check out some products or play some of the games or even use it to put something you want to sell in front of a million customers – and it will cost you nothing when using this card.”

If you give the cards out on line you need to be careful about getting scammed for the redemption value of the card. Make sure you gather your prospects contact information and have them enroll as your free PRM (Personally Referred Member) before you give them the code for redemption.

Whenever my wife and I go into town I take a few cards with me and sometimes I will leave them in the bottom of a shopping cart or lose one of them on the floor in the store. I have picked up two or three PRMs doing this.

There are many ways to distribute the cards but the best overall method is to give them out by hand with a little information on how to use the card and what they can use it for. Also try to gain their contact information as you are handing them the card.

Do not hand them the card then ask for their information I have had a couple people hand the card back to me. And don’t ask for the information before giving them the card they might just say “Oh that’s OK – maybe some other time.”

There is a psychological affect going on when you are trading something while their reaching for the card they will trade you their information. At least that is what I have found works best for me. Using this method no one has given the card back.
