In answering ASK SC questions, always remember that you are writing for your peers some of who know the business better than you. Remember too that your peers are the most critical judges there are. Having that in mind while hoping to get the maximum number of votes possible, here are a few DOs and DON’Ts as my best tips which guide me in writing my own ASK SC answers.

DOs:
1. Be sure you understand the question before venturing an answer.
2. Write your answers concisely and in readable English.
3. Write what any and everybody can read and understand.
4. Use the correct punctuation and exclamation marks.
5. Use a reader-friendly format.
6. Make sure you write SFI related words with proper capitalization of V and P, words like TripleClicks and VersaPoints.
7. Write politely and in an explanatory tone.
8. Give detailed information related to the question as you know it.
9. As much as convenient, factor in your own experience or the experience of someone you know closely.
10. Stick to direct, short and highly-informative answers.
11. Make sure your answer addresses the question at hand frontally.
12. Always make proper references with the correct links in SFI.
13. Submit your answers as early as possible soon after the question is posted.
14. Make sure you check your answers for spelling, grammar and factual errors, before submitting them.
15. Always try to explain words which have no general understanding in English.
16. Make sure your answers are not less than 300 characters long.


DON’Ts:
1. Do not write jaw-breaking grammar.
2. Do not write in ALL CAPS to avoid “yelling.”
3. Do not bend the question to what it is not asking.
4. Do not spam or copy other peoples’ answers as your own.
5. Do not use too many references or too many links.
6. Avoid using words that have no general meaning in English.
7. Do not include in your answers any information relating to your identity.
8. Avoid foul language and or slangs.
9. Do not write to exhibit that you know it all.
10. Avoid derogatory language.

First do not answer a question unless you really know the answer. You don't want your team seeing you embarrass yourself.

Answer with new insight, not what SFI has written in the training. If 50 people have already given your answer don't hitherto submit it without something extra.

Submit about day 4 or 5. This gives the copiers a chance to already uae up their one entry and lessen your uniqueness.

Give a complete answer. Don't assume a newbie can fill in your blanks.

Length matters only to the lazy. If you don't ramble butuseuseful information then length is OK.

Don't use salutations or cutsies either to open or close your submission. And don't write a letter to the asked.

Remember these are for future reference give from your personal experience.

I am a regular contributor with my inputs into ASK SC and it gives you not only the satisfaction of sharing my accumulated knowledge with others but also will increase my knowledge level by reading others invaluable contributions.

I personally pursue the following ideas before I submit my answers to the relevant questions periodically in ASK SC.

1) Study and understand the real meaning and essence of the question asked.
2) Write your answer on a word format and check the spelling and grammar.
3) Read your answer many times and be satisfied with yourself before you submit.
4) Always try to submit your answers at an early date.
5) Submit your answers only if you have in depth knowledge of the concerned matter and question.
6) Maintain your own personality and identity without copying others inputs and answers.

If you follow all the above instructions carefully, systematically and nicely, then I am sure, others will recognize and admire your knowledge level and appreciate your efforts and of course, it will give you more votes too along with self satisfaction.

I would suggest that you only answer questions for which you have personal knowledge or experience. To waft and ad lib is something that is quickly detected by the reader and could result in your loosing votes.

Secondly, FOLLOW THE RULES for submitting answers. By not following the rules you risk being reported and your submission being removed from the ASK SC forum.

Try to maintain a friendly yet informative stance and a wee bit of humor always goes along way to endear the reader to your article.

ALWAYS BE ORIGINAL – this is a SFI prerequisite!

If you are going to write an essay, be sure you have enough content to engage the reader without boring them.

Submitting answers is also a wonderful self-test of your knowledge of the subject matter.

WHY? When you vote on the ASK SC questions while completing you TODO list, you will have an opportunity to gauge your answer to others that are being submitted.

And then? Well, YOU BE THE JUDGE!

The biggest surprise is of course, when you get rewarded and this is your ultimate confirmation.

You have been given excellent tips for answering ASK SC questions. Some may get you the maximum votes, yet some may not, it depends on the raters’ preference or the relatability of your answers.

My simple tips are as follows:

. Ensure you read and understand the question being asked.

. Write a draft of your answer, check the facts for accuracy.

. Write from your own experience, in simple words, and easy, straight-to-the point style.

. Ensure you use paragraph breaks with one or two sentences in a paragraph for easy reading.

. If you are citing facts, use bullet or number form with useful link to back up your answer.

. Proofread your work for spelling and grammatical errors. Spell all SFI-related terms correctly, like TCredit, not TC, as TC stands for TripleClicks, and VersaPoint is one word.

. Don’t copy others’ work – it’s called plagiarism.

. And don’t ever, ever put your name and other identifiable marks on your answer- it’s a surefire way to get a NO rating.

Submit you answer when all the above have been done, but don't raise your hopes high to avoid disappointment. You've done your best and that is all that matters, as readers will find your answer more valuable even when yours did not get popular votes.

Hi,
I personnaly have used some of the following and have found them to be helpful;
1. Always makesure you have understood the question that has been asked. Only then are you going to respond correctly.
2. Answer the right question. I sometimes have seen very good aswers to one question posted under a diifferent question. this is an automatic disqualification, hence wasted effort.

3. It is also very critical to answer questions as soon as you see them ie as early as you possibly can. This gives your answer longer viewership by the audience and may just get more votes before even other better answers are flighted.

4.Knowledge is power.Answer those questions which you trully believe you have the answers to. If the answers are not readily in your mind, then do research. The best anwsers usually come because you read the materials that SFI offers us, understood & have applied them.
5. Whenever you can, write what you have practically done yourself. You find that the answers will be very original & in some instances unique. In as much as we are all trained through the SFI program, there are other techniques we have learnt outside SFI, but have applied them and they have worked for us. Because of this we are more passionate about what we have applied and succeeded. It is much easier to share personal experiences.
6. Where possible, have your answers short and precise. Just write to the point, without too much phylosophy, poetry or composition to it.
7. As we are encouraged by SFI, proper layout and presentation of your answer is always helpful to the reader. Most of the times numbering your points may be of an advantage.

8. Lastly I would say whatever you write down should be helpful to the questioneer, other readers and even yourself.

I rate answers every day and I have to say that I am greatly impressed by some of the many talented and knowledgeable people in SFI. The names of the same people, the best writers, come up regularly. Sadly mine is not one of them.

I have studied their answers and I make the following observations:
- They answer the question being asked instead of simply talking about it.
- They do not repeat the question at the beginning of their answers. This is a pointless and annoying practice by some members.
- They do not simply repeat or copy and paste the information that is already in SFI about the subject of the question. They provide the links for the readers to follow if necessary.
- Their arguments or points are made in well-structured ways with logical conclusions.
- They don’t rave on or go off sideways. They are focused on the question being answered.
- Their answers are to the point and not long winded. If the question only warrants a short answer then the answer should be short.
- The tone of their answers is always light and friendly. They don’t lecture to the readers.
- They use every day English avoiding words that may be difficult to be understood by those for whom English is not their primary language.
- They use short sentences and their posts are easy to follow.

Those are some of my observations and I always vote YES on those points.

Further to those, if I find that any of the information contained in the answers are incorrect or breaches any of the rules, I will always vote NO.

One of the most common breaches is people putting their names at the end of their answer or somehow identifying who they are. Regardless of the quality of the answer, I always vote NO for those.

As a frequent winner, here are some of my best tips for answering ASK SC questions to get the maximum number of votes possible?

Do:

1. Remember that the directions for voting are, “Do you find this answer helpful?”

2. Put your best information first. People tend to read the beginning and, if it is long,

don’t bother to read the rest; however, it does look impressive to have a long answer.

3. Answer a question as soon as it comes out.

4. Be original and willing to share.

5. Be the expert. Do research if necessary.

6. Vote on the ASK SC questions daily.

7. Study what others have written in the past, especially the winners.

8. Ask your sponsor or a2a friend for help if you are new or have trouble with English.

9. Make sure your grammar and spelling are right, especially SFI terms like TripleClicks.

10. Make your answer easy to read by using points and spacing.

11. Refer to answers at the SFI site and give any other references you know of to help.

Don’t:

1. Just repeat answers already available on the SFI site.

2. Use a lot of filler words that are unimportant.

3. Copy others.

ASK SC is a great tool for any one to learn. This is the place to answer from the heart.
The answer to any question comes only when the sufficient experience is experienced while doing the business. As per my experience, the answer should be:

Answering the questions takes a bit of common sense and research.

I see answers where the person didn't understand the question so they answered some other question which wasn't even close.

I see people who have no idea tell you that they have no idea and then fill in the rest of the answer anyhow. Know what you are talking about and own your answer.

I see too many try to correct the person asking in what they think the question should be. That's just rude and not right.

I see people who rush their every answer ignoring spell check and not grabbing all the facts before they post. These answers are seldom longer than 3-4 lines and offer little value.

Plagiarism is also a major problem. Every week there will be 15 people who just copy related text from the pages of SFI or some famous persons similar post and call it their own. This is moronic, lazy, and illegal and SFI warns as your posting in bright red letters not to plagiarize.

Forgetting and signing your name or putting your contact details in the post. I have reported and down thumbed a bunch of otherwise brilliant post because they didn't follow the posting rules.

Stop thinking you have to answer every question. Answer the ones that you know well and you'll get far better response than answering all of them half way. Honestly there have been time I just didn't submit an answer because I felt I could add nothing new to what was already said.

Short paragraphs, numbering talking points and summarizing your post are also great tips.

Always exude confidence in your answer as people have a hard time supporting the person who is saying it might be and an easy time following the person who says it is.

Be natural, and learn how and when to be silent, when to be aggressive, and when to spend 15 minutes doing research instead of 3 minutes being wrong.
