The best way to motivate your downline to become team leaders is to create an awareness of the importance of sponsoring and duplication, so that as their PSAs become very engaged and active, your downline, who are sponsors will receive the associated VP for supporting them.

These Support VP will become higher as their PSAs attain higher ranks, which will in turn make your downline become team leaders. It may be unproductive to encourage your downline to 'buy' TL status by making purchases only because it may become unsustainable to maintain a TL rank buy such purchases on medium or long term basis.

As a consequence, your duty will be to direct them on how to sponsor and duplicate by constant communication on how they can duplicate your efforts, assuming you are also doing what it takes to maintain a team leader status.

Every Team Leader will want to motivate his/her downline to become TLs and not to stay EAs. There are important points that a Team Leader must take into consideration before taking into action to motivate his/her downline to move up from EA to TL and not stay at EA level.

Points to consider:

- Pushing your downline to move up from EA level to BTL, so just to benefit as their Team Leader without building their own downline will not work in the long run. This is achievable but duplication, which is the core of your SFI business, is out of the picture therefore it will not work.

- Educating your downline will take time. Don’t ignore the time factor needed to increase the knowledge base of your downline. Pressuring them to become TLs without the knowledge of implementing the SFI tools and resources will not work.
Assuming you have taken into consideration the points above, you can go ahead in employing the best way to motivate your downline to become TLs and not stay EAs.
Motivating your Members:

- Tell them about the benefits of being a Team Leader as laid out in Compensation plan and Benefits Chart. More VPs means bigger payouts, better perks and more power. This includes higher commissions, VP Matching, monthly free TCredits, Second Home CSAs allotment, access to Power Tools to grow their SFI business, etc.

- Organize a contest such as, Sponsoring Affiliates, referring TC/W3 members, generating TC sales, and so on offering Gift Certificates, TCredits or shares of your Ad Co-op.

- Recognizing achievements of your downline ranging from winning in the Daily Grand, E365, Power Ranks and so on. Send them E-Cards and post their achievements at SFI Forum Recognitions section.

- Assure them that you are committed to their success in helping them to achieve their goals to attain residual income.

Making Bronze Team Leader each month does not need to be a result of having a strong following, I believe it should be a result of being the example of an active and efficient Executive Affiliate.

Once an SFI Affiliate realizes the value, importance and benefits of becoming an Executive Affiliate, the most logical step is becoming a Team Leader by example. Most Affiliates think becoming a Team Leader should be a result of having followers but I do not. Best way to motivate members of your downline to become team leaders is to ask them what lifestyle they want to live and how fast they want to reach that goal.

Ask them being EA how are they planning to reach their goal. How long they want to wait to reach their goal. What are the steps they want to take to reach that goal.

Find out from them if they understood the compensation plan.

Show them in a table if they take actions REMAINING EA how long will it take them to earn their target income .

Show them in a table if they become Team leader and duplicate their actions through their downline how long will it take to reach their financial goal and what will be the profit they will earn in how many months. This table should have field to enter the number of PSAs who will be EA2 and it should show the income for 6 months from now . It should also have field to enter for the number of EA2 PSAs for each of the EA2 PSAs

Explain them the table and the calculation and matching points and the direct commissions and how they have been considered while arriving the income .

It will be evident from the table that if the no of EA2 PSAs increase in your downline and if we help all of them to duplicate the same , we can reach our financial goals faster than just being EA and not expanding the downline of EA2.

Well, the best way is to give them an incentive. Do a contest and let them know that you mean business. You have to do this to ONLY THOSE WHO ARE YOUR MOVERS. They are the prospects i will suggest that you work on. I do this a lot for my team and its working, especially since they know i mean what i say. Let them understand too, what the benefits of being a team leader does to their pay check. When one of my up line showed me the benefits of being a Bronze team leader, i made up my mind to go for it the second time but this time with a calculated insight.
When personally, i saw the advantage of being a bronze team leader, i did everything i could to make it happen but i made a mistake along the line. i was supposed to help one of my team members who was close to it, so that i could earn just the little action point required for it, but it was too late, but it made me a better sponsor.
I learnt that to motivate them, help those close to it to attain the position, may be 10T credit or as they may require it and you will be amazed at the result. Not only that, tell them to do the same.
The bottom line, help those closer to it to attain the position and teach them how to maintain it,with very little to invest. many may be scared of the financial aspect of it. let them know that every successful enterprise has had to flourish on calculated and analyzed risks, that every investment made in SFI comes back to them in their paycheck at the end of the month.

Two of the common issues in network marketing are ‘retention’ and ‘motivation’
In other words, once you’ve built a good downline, how you keep them motivated to stay and do their work? Success in SFI is based on interdependent relationships. Your profits directly tied to your downline’s performance. Likewise, your downline depends on you to teach the how to duplicate your success.

This is the key.
• Depending on their experience level, survey and find out what they’re up against. In responses, you need to give them an easy-to-follow marketing system as laid out by SFI. Next, you must teach/show them how to execute our system effectively. This is critical, in order to help them duplicate your results.
• Some people just aren’t very competitive, but you can combat this tendency by appealing to their ego. Capitalize on the desire for reward and recognition. But not too much.
• If you can, offer a little ‘public praise’ by featuring downline member’s success stories in your blog or website or newsletter.
• You might want to reward them materially. TCredits, purchase items at TripClicks or gift certificate, for example, and give it free to the ‘most improved/outstanding downline member.

Staying EA has its own reason too. The most common problem is lesser spending power, means unable to buy items at TripleClicks. 2000 Sales VP and 1000 Action VP are hard to achieve by some. To attain BTL.

Ultimately, keeping your downline motivated means treating them as respected members of your team. Let them know that you care about their success as much as your own, and show it by helping them in any way you can.

Team Leaders have a definite responsibility towards their team and it is important to first understand that there is no point whatsoever to fast track to leadership level when you do not have an active team under you.

To motivate downlines to move up to leadership level from being EA, they should have an active team. Here are a few ways to do that.

1..Starting contests in the team is very motivating and if you keep the minimum qualifying requirements of lets say a Bronze Team Leader, EA's will try and achieve this.

2..To stress the importance of climbing up the ladder can be a self motivating factor. Wanting to achieve a higher rank and then maintaining the rank can be challenging but it trains the EA to understand how to reach leadership status.

3..Emphasizing the benefits of being a team leader and the impact it has on matching VPs and income can be another motivator

Without an active team, it would be prudent to also train the EAs to recruit more PSAs and get them to become active-this will motivate them to build a stronger foundation and a business too.

This is how I support my team Members.

The best way to do your SFI business is to start it as a TEAM .
Start it with a six man Team, with you as the Team Leader.

I support five members monthly on achieving and maintaining their SFI Team Leader statis. Refunding into their paypal accounts $25 per month.

How I decide on who to reward as my Team Leaders.
I can only reward my team who are in my Level One Down line at SFI.
Duplicate my system with your SFI Level one down line.

I check who has been spending what.When A position becomes available and I see a member has set up a standing order plus has purchased Gift Cards.
I then send them an E Card informing them that a new postition is available.
I check around the 15th of each month who has kept up with the payments.
I reward 5 members monthly. SO it is very important once you are selected to keep the payments active to receive the refund.

I was asking the same question myself, Richard. For the life of me, I can never understand why some are happy to just be EAs and not move up.

It's like they enjoy the comforts of a rocking chair, they may seem to be doing something, like rock back and forth, but never leaving the place.

Or finding that they may have to make an investment and they have little or no funds to do it, or have family and personal reasons that prevent them from going further. Who knows?

So it's best to find out the reasons- fear and problems- and what their goals are- and offer to help them achieve them.

If your downlines are ambitious and really want to move ahead, then it's easy to motivate them.

Encourage them to review the SFI Compensation Plan. In doing so, emphasise the many benefits of becoming Team Leaders, such as receiving free TCredits of 10, 12, 14, 16 and 20 depending on rank every month, in addition to the free second-home CSAs, and VP Matching up to 8 - 12 generations, which is the jewel of the SFI Compensatin Plan, among others.

Start a team contest with rewards of PSA reassignment, Gift Certificates, or TCredits, for every milestones they achieve, always giving praise and appreciation for their efforts.

Showing you care about their success as well as their well-being will also bear fruits.

Emphasise the importance of becoming Team Leaders by helping them become one, and that they need credibility to lead others.

They are also proving to others that by conquering their fears and overcoming the many obstacles we all must face, and rather than stay in a rocking chair, they are getting up and they are going places and eventually emerging as WINNERS!
