If you are placing a short text ad, for example, you may be better off promoting a category that is appropriate for the intended reader instead of a specific product. You may, however, write a story in a blog that explains how a product that you are familiar has benefited you and how it fits into your life.

I think that you should advertise and sell TripleClicks products that you believe in which can be easily promoted if you yourself buy and use the items.
I personally believe that it is hard to promote something that you are not familiar with or have never tried using. Personal experience is the best way that you can promote something as whatever happens, you yourself have tried the items and the best model is YOU.
From my experience, any product that genuinely solves a problem or feels a need at the right time is your best bet.
Before picking a product, ask yourself the following:
-will this fulfill a need or solve a problem?
-is it economically feasible?
-will it get delivered in record time? (because people don't like to wait);

Choose the products that you like best and will use. It is always easier to market something you feel strongly about- and trying to promote something that doesn't ring your bell will be difficult if not impossible. So I would suggest going through, finding two or three products that you use, love and feel strongly about, and using those as your promotional products. Keep it simple!
