Is it wise to 'bribe' your downline with Gift Certificates, TCredits or other incentives? Or does this practice come back and bite you?

The business of life gets in the way of the plans a lot of people who join SFI have for their success. So what we leaders have to do is to motivate these people to keep their eyes on the prize of their success. We have to help them to achieve their goals by encouraging them to follow the SFI Rules of Success. The awarding of Gift Certificate, TCredits, or Other incentives is just one of the tools in our tool box of effective sponsoring. I am not aware of any instance in which the awarding of

I suppose gifting a Gift Certificate or T-Credits may be viewed upon as a "bribe" but I consider such acts as a way to show you want to help others with their SFI business.

I would not see the practice of "gifting" as having a negative outcome for you unless you are truly "bribing" people. A bribe basically is only benefiting the one who gives it. So when using Gift Certificates or T-Credits as a means of "bribery" this would not be the case as these

I had this very same thought a few months ago.

Obviously, you only want to reward your team mates that are working and not reward the ones that are not willing to work.

My incentive idea was if my PSA's made EA2 two months in a row and also had a standing order set up, I would reward them with 3 PSA's that I received through the S-Builder CO-OP.

The only problem is that I STILL have not had any luck with this reward program. Maybe I need to rethink it a little.

Anyway,

Dear Ian,
It is wise to bribe your downline with TC credits, gift certificates or other incentives because then ( at least serious ones ) put more effort in their work in SFI.
That results with new affiliates and grows your downline as well as their own.

Like in every business method or some kind reward pays off.

Also placing contests brings people to work harder and fight to win prizes,
it's human nature to aim to achieve more.
It is most affective with

I think while doing duplication it is better if you create a contest, so you can reward your downline with Gift Certificates, TCredits or other incentives.

This way you don't need to 'bribe' anyone, but you offer some help for your downline to be more excited in grow their SFI business.

You may keep yourself in the leading position and no one will come back then bite you.

Hope you can see the light here.

It is definitely not a good idea to "bribe" your downline. This is because they may become dependent on you giving them these extras. However, I do not see anything wrong with awarding your "workers" for their hard work. If you have a PSA who is achieving high every month, giving them a small token of your appreciation just shows them that they are important to you as a team member. Sometimes, such incentive can encourage a hard worker to work even harder.

I am not sure if we should use the word bribe, because your downline do need help. Focus on the Psa that are really trying to maintain their EA status.
If you have a few PSA that is really working, but find it difficult to maintain their status, maybe then you can assist them with a few gift certificates to hand out.
The T credits whe you use them give you versa points. Maybe if you see that they need a few points to retain their status you can help them.
Hope you guys don, t think

Dear Ian Chivers
I personally would not call it bribe but merely incentives.
Yes, I believe that a good leader should necessarily help its affiliates to achieve certain goals. This behavior as well as to grow in esteem you, your sister will feel flattered and most certainly not alone.
The union is strength, and keep the group together is a must for a leader.
Give honest advice and wise in the long run, I can guarantee that makes it so much that an affiliate, will never give

I feel very strongly about NOT "bribing"your down line, but rather rewarding them for an accomplishment that they earned. Running contests for most affiliates sponsored, etc. is a much more effective use of your resources. Keep in mind that some will most won't. Let the cream rise to the top, then spend your time helping them. Don't waste your valuable time and more importantly your resources on those who won't put in the effort in any case.
