First, I would not recommend doing this. A better idea would be to approach a drop shipping company to become an ECA themselves and to have them list their products at TripleClicks. You will earn royalties for life if they keep active.

Second, It would also depend on what you are selling. If, for example, you are selling your own books on amazon.com you'd have a better time just advertising for buyers to go directly there. Amazon provides free shipping most of the time.

Third, Drop shipping is a lot harder than it at first appears.

1. You have an extensive list of all your suppliers’ products to list in your TripleClicks Store.

2. You will need to catalogue each item,

3. Keep your product list up to date and

4. Determine what the shipping cost for each product will be to where it is going in different parts of the world.

Once you are contacted by TripleClicks that you have an order:

1. You have to purchase it from your drop shipper, wholesale to be delivered automatically from that point on. Yes, you will get commission at your TC store plus earn the difference between wholesale and retail.

2. After all that work, will TC customers buy your product at the retail price? Probably not, in which case you would have to lower your price.

The very best way for an ECA to drop ship is to find a manufacturer that will work with him, assuring him a steady line of products, and who will give him a certain amount of credit, letting him pay after he is paid.

When an ECA uses a drop shipper, what he is doing is waiting until he has an order for a specific, covered product, and then alerting the supplier to ship the item to the customer in a "plain brown wrapper." That is, the ECA has a contract with a supplier to sell him their items at a discounted price, and will ship them to his customer in a way that the customer does not learn who the supplier is.

Drop Shippers can be both a blessing and a curse and only time will tell what your supplier will be like.

In many cases you will find drop shippers who are direct production companies and spend very little money warehousing merchandise. During high volume periods such as Christmas Rush they may experience a high rate of out of stocks or orders being labeled Assembly Only meaning you will get them as soon as we make them.

It's always best when looking at major holidays to stock a few of your best sellers even if you need to rent a cheap storage shed to work as a warehouse and plan on getting those orders in at least 4-6 weeks in advance of planned need.

Be sure to keep detailed accounting of your sales and expenses because in many cases you can borrow against projected sales when there is a history of steady income to help you do these minor build ups.

The highest risk in using Drop Shippers is in dealing with lack of access to their shipping records and tracking data, and potential issues that may arise with their return policy being more strict than your own resulting in you being on the line for merchandise you can't return but must issue a refund on.

Next, and this is sometimes less obvious than it needs to be: make sure you charge enough to cover the commission markdown, shipping, and any other eventualities. The rest really depends on how much of a profit margin your product will give you.

If your dropshipper offers related items, you could consider bundling them for added value (and a healthy hike in profit)--for example, if your supplier offers both video cameras and the SD chips for it, bundle them together. Many dropshippers offer higher discount to people doing business in volume. Use that to your advantage.
