If the purpose of the GC is to get them interested in SFI and TripleClicks, then you should say something about those. Don't just hope they will see the connection because they may not.

I would craft something that related to you and how TC has changed your spending habits, shopping online and earning you commission on your own purchases. I would also talk about the games that TC has with the types of prizes that you could win and also I would talk about the PriceBender auctions and give some examples of what they could win for how much.

Then, I would say that you've arranged for them to receive a $12 value FREE at TC. All they have to do is register and enter the special code (just for them) to receive their FREE reward. You might want to include what the $12 is good for -- so they are not expecting $12 in cash. Also, I advise mine that the code expires in 30-days. Write to them as you would normally do so you don't sound like you're trying to sell them something. Let them know you're giving them a free gift for the reason (Find something in the past they've helped you with and expected nothing in return).
