I overcame my anxiety about talking to strangers when I learned to ask questions about the person that I am talking to.
First, I ask something non-personal such as: "How do you like this weather we are having?" or "Do you like the car you are driving?" Anything, just to break the ice.
Many people have pets and they have to exercise their pets at least 3 times a day. So I may ask: "What breed is your cute dog?"
If the person has the time I might ask about "what sort of work do you do?"
Then I can ask more questions about "how long have you worked there?"
"Did you have to train for that job?"
"When will you be able to retire?"
By asking questions you can lead right into the home based business topic and whether they have bought or sold anything online.
Remember to say something complimentary about their posessions, pets, or vehicles.
If they ask you a question, give them a sincere and honest answer.
Try this at frist with someone you already know. Just to get used to doing it.
