There is one essential thing that is left out on all the answers that I have seen: If you Sponsor a Executive Affiliate (EA2) you get 100VP, and this count as ACTION POINTS. The VP increase with the the rank that you have Sponsored.
If you do what all the answers suggested, and be an awesome sponsor too, there is no change of failure in this business.

When you were a newbie you had all the AVP available to you on your To Do List. Now that you have exhausted that, what now? You can now make on average 11 AVP per day. So you new to log on every day. Coming to the end of the month you realize that you are far away from your required monthly AVP. You can go to TripleClicks store; first of all you can purchase TCredits. Tcredits allow you to participate in the various games thus earning AVP; you are also able to Bid and vote for the winning price. You are also earning AVPs and MRP. You can also purchase a product that is useful for you. Shop around your shop to see if you will find an item that will give you the AVPs you are short of.
For a business to be successful there must be careful planning, hence before the start of each month one should make plans on the strategies to be employed personally to earn AVP. Always be determined that no matter what you are going to advance your rank.

When you log in to SFI and arrive at your Homepage, click on the "TO-DO LIST" tab and everything that you can do to earn Action VersaPoints will be in front of you.

The lists that the other Affiliates have provided are great resources, but sometimes it is much simpler to just go down the list already provided by SFI, as it tracks what you have already done and what you have left available to do.

The best way to get AVP is to log on EVERYDAY. Do every RED tab. If you haven't done so yet. set up a blog, and install a SFI or TripleClicks banner ad on it. The step by step instructions are provided to do it. It's real easy. That will give an extra 100 VP. Also do the daily LAUNCHPAD. Those lessons give you 15 VP apiece. Sending out Team messages to you PSAs and CSAs will also earn you VP. Basically though, going through your entire TO-DO List will get you your AVP everyday.
There are plenty of ways to get action VersaPoints.
One of them is to simply complete the actions on your to-do list. You will rack up approximately 11 to 13 points for the day (if you have TCredits to participate in the Zebra Games Time Machine contest and have not submitted a stream post).
I had also mentioned having TCredits. If there are any available, you can use those credits to participate in auctions. Each credit used adds one point to your score (isn't that cool).
Review the Launchpad lessons as well. Each correct answer will earn you 15 points.

After joining SFI to continue you have to work very hard and accumulate as many Action VersaPoints as possible.The following may be of great help to you:
1. on daily basis log in and accomplish all the to do list and this will give you 11 points daily.
2. on weekly basis you can get 38 points
3.on monthly basis 15 points.
4 card distribution can give you 300 points on monthly basis.
in this way you can easily attain the required 1500 points on monthly basis.
Daily, weekly and monthly tasks.
PSA help to become leaders.
Shop products triplecliks and evaluate them, it gives a 25 AVP for the first purchase of each product.
Distribute gift cards.
If you want to, and also invested some money can be BTL and without a team and it helps you build it to your team.
