A Parable for those who don't know is an object lesson or story that tells your message in a way the person reading or listening can best understand. People like to see how something applies to their lives and the narrative will help to understand exactly that.
Example:
With SFI you are a business owner and you have two choices for starting your business.

Choice One is to start it alone, go through the process finding your own way and learning as you go how to learn the things vital to your business success.
If on this path you meet failures you alone must be responsible for picking yourself back up, dusting off the ashes, and continuing on. It's a lonely road and there is constant danger because your own mind will often be your worst enemy telling you that you can't instead of showing you that you can.
Choice Two is to start your business like joining a franchise. You can accept the help of your sponsor including things like e-mail and phone support and additional training materials and business tools. They can walk with you through setting up your business and becoming profitable.
When you hit points of failure which will happen with both options you will not be alone. A call or e-mail to your sponsor will help you pick up the pieces, decide a new plan of action, get motivated, and try again. You will never be truly alone, and they will always be there to help you find the tools you need to succeed.
The forum and training areas can only go so far, in the end you need someone who understands you and can relate to your situation to help guide you. The way to get that is through constant communication with your team both upline and downline.

Using a parable or narrative to show the positive and negative effects of a situation puts the solution on personal terms and makes it real to the recipient. There is no training tool more powerful besides personal experience itself as this will guide the person towards choosing the right path to experience while giving them that freedom to make their own choice.
