Product Collections are product bundles which contain an assortment of several sets that usually belong to a common theme or have a common subject. They usually feature sets that could just as well be bought separately. Product collections usually start with a four-digit number with a preceding "K" or a five-digit number beginning with "6". You may have noticed this on product collections like “lego” box collections.
Creating and launching your products as a well thought out collection will save you a lot of time and money, will focus your creative energy, create more clarity and will explain your marketing strategy better (for yourself and your potential clients!), and will make marketing and selling a lot easier.
You can group your TripleClicks products together into categories, known as collections, to make them easier to manage or easier for your customers to discover. Examples of collections that you might create in TripleClicks include:
• clothes specifically for men, women, or children.
• items of a certain type, such as lamps, cushions, or rugs.
• electronics – a cell phone, charger, head set, and hands free devices for vehicles.
• gaming – an Xbox, with collections of different themed games for gamers, action, fantasy, war games.
• woman’s jewelry – a ring, bracelet and a pair of ear rings.
• children’s toys – a board game, a deck of cards, and a mind game.
• religious items – a bible, a cross or crucifix on a chain and a book on religion.
• art – combining art works of a similar color or type of art.
• craft items – combining 3 or more crafts into a crafting collection.
• items on sale.
• items in a certain size or color.
• seasonal products such as holiday cards and decorations.
• Travel – combining flights, accommodation, rental car, day trips, tours and excursions in different packaged options.
In a collection items need to work at many levels; whether it’s a vase, a cushion and a picture frame. They need to sit well together and look like they belong, or were designed by the same hand or in the same theme. They don’t necessarily have to be made in the same material or be the same color. Consider the seasons and the market and plan a year ahead.
It may be worth looking at these strategies when compiling and marketing your TripleClicks collections and decide which strategy fits best for you. Pure collections are when a consumer can only purchase the entire collection or nothing, mixed collections are when consumers are offered a choice between purchasing the entire collection or one of the separate parts of the collection.
