There are many ways to overcome the language barrier. The following are some of the most practical ways we can use to our advantage.
GoogleTranslate. Although Google Translate can only give a literal translation of English words to another language, it can help bridge the gap in communication.
Used properly, it can help getting your points across by using simple words in a short question and answer format.
You write what you want to say in English, then ask Google to translate it, copy the translation and send both the English and the translation to the person you’re communicating with.
Translate option. When sending a Welcome E-Card, write a short message in the new person’s language with advice to use the Translate Option in his homepage and everything will be translated for easy understanding of SFI procedures to help with getting started properly.
Enlist the help of an a2a friend from the same country to translate for you a message to give to your member to visit the Sub-Forum My Country/My Region where he can post a question or seek help in his native language and someone from his country who speaks his dialect can help.
Use Reassignment tool. Go to your Genealogy and choose Geography to find someone in your team who comes from the same country. Ensure you inform the PSA of the reason for the reassignment. This tool is also very useful for reassigning CSAs as well.
