One thing I understood through my regular mails to my Team was:
Nobody likes to be told, "Do this; Do that" regularly.
How I came to this conclusion?
There was absolutely no response for any of my mails from most of my team members. Only few kept answering my communications.
Then, I changed the way of my mails.
In every mail, I kept asking them:
1. "What I can Do for you so that you can get started?"
2. "What sort of help I can do so that you can advance further?"
3. "Please let me know How can I support so that you will know many things quickly and move on?"
The emphasis was on: "How I can support them for their growth?"
Soon, I started seeing good results and few of them are quite active and advancing step by step.
This I learned from one of the Training Materials written by Gery.
When we approach with a genuine concern and make the team members understand it, certainly we can see results from few if not from the majority.
Please change your way of writing team mails & start showing more care and concern which should be easily understood by them. Once they realize this, I am sure, you will find positive response from your Team. From there, it will be easy to build the relationship further and grow together!!
