- Allocate time for increasing your knowledge.
Start learning SFI BASICS and LAUNCHPAD and make sure you fully comprehend these two important core business principles of SFI to pass them on to your team members, giving them the right foundation in their journey with SFI. Stick to this program of continually educating yourself to widen your knowledge base.
Read from SFI training articles, study the Ask SC questions/answers, and actively participate in the Forum to learn more from good experienced Team Leaders how they provide solutions to problems. You can try to emulate them. These will prove to be invaluable resources for your training and support in your group as you expand your network.
- Learn from your Sponsor/Upline
Stay connected to your Sponsor/Upline particularly in regards to their activities. A good Sponsor/Upline maintain his/her top performance in regards to their activities which promote growth in their organization. He/she would want to pass on his/her leadership skills by providing full training and support and if need be offer one-on-one support for customized solutions in helping members of his/her groups which require more time.
Be attentive to their group support messages and try to ask questions in topics that are particularly important to you especially in acquiring skills necessary for becoming a good Team Leader. If your Sponsor/Co-Sponsor/Upline are inactive, go to the next step.
- Associate yourself closely with successful Team Leaders.

Don't just read books because someone recommended that they're “great for entrepreneurs”, every industry, product, founder, company, and stage is different, so be selective. You will get much more benefit by seeking books based on your specific needs/challenges in key areas of acquiring leadership skills.
When reading your book think how you can do it effectively and actionably. You can do this by using your reading time as efficiently and productively as possible. Internalizing and acting upon what you've learned are important active reading practices, which ensure that your valuable reading hours yield the maximum benefit for your SFI business and for your own professional development of becoming a good Team Leader.
Whatever entrepreneurial literature you read, just make sure you are reading it on an on-demand, as-needed basis, not simply because the cool kids seem to be reading it. You need be focus in your goal of learning how to become a good Team Leader.
- Lead by example.
As you learn and improve your leadership skill to become a good Team Leader, you also need to start applying what you've learned. Being an example can be anything, right from the way your group works, to the way they make professional decisions. Treat everyone on your group with equal respect. Keep an open and honest communication and show your group that you are here to solve any problems the best you can or make any needed adjustments that benefit the group as a whole.Leading by example is a great responsibility, so make it worthy in your walk.
