What can/should I do differently in 2016 to see that my affiliates become active in SFI?
I can’t “see” (or make) my affiliates become active in SFI. That is their personal choice. But perhaps if I change a few things I might make it harder for them not to become active.
So, I am trying to make myself (and hence SFI) more real to them. I want them to realize that I am a real person, just an ordinary bloke, just like them, and that SFII is for “us ordinary people”. In fact SFI is for everyone! This is how I am trying to do this: -
1. I make the Stream posts and weekly TeamMails that I send out quite personal. I talk about what I am doing. I describe the problems and challenges that I face and how I am trying to overcome them. I talk about how my family life impinges on SFI and visa versa. And I talk about my achievements and the wins/rewards that I receive from SFI.
2. I try to break down SFI into small progressive bits. And I advise them to work at their own pace, don’t become overwhelmed. SFI will still be there for them tomorrow. Just do what you can each day or whenever you can.
3. And I am trying to put my face before them. For instance I prepared and sent out a video clip on Youtube with a short Christmas message. And I did another one for New Year.
I’m not very good at this. It is something that I will have to learn to do better – and I will. And the next step is for me to prepare Youtube training video clips and send those out.
4. And I want to follow these Youtube clips up with a series of day-by-day “this is what you should do” guides. I’m in the process of preparing these now.
The above is all about trying to get my team to begin in SFI. Once they do, once they ask me something – then I can give them specific, personal, “one-on-one” advice.
Is what I am doing working? Well, the very small number of affiliates who rate me each month give me 5 stars. That is very satisfying. Of course alot do not respond at all. But perhaps the most encouraging thing that happens is sometimes an affiliate who has been inactive for some time logs in and has another look at SFI. Maybe they don’t do much, but at least they came back. So perhaps what I am doing is making them more curious about SFI. That gives me hope to keep on trying.
