The best way to learn how to be a successful online entrepreneur is to learn from one that is experienced.
To be a successful online entrepreneur, you need to have the ability to read, make researches and develop your business plan or idea.
To start off, we need to:-
1. Take courses In business management to help in our business and managerial skills.
2. Get training in Technology:- Remember, that its an online business and as the owner of the business, we need to know how to use the computer so as to develop our websites and troubleshoot if need be.
3. Decide what to do:- We should decide on what to do that would be of benefit not only to you but to others. For instance, in my country where the unemployment rate is high, I can design my site for job seekers to register online and apply for jobs. This can be done via SEO (Search Engine Optimization). It means we can decide to do consulting where people search and you list out the vacancies available. Likewise, if we want to market an ECA product on our website, we need to have designed a site to drive traffic via SEO depending on the word used in the search.
4. Carry a market search:- Do a market research on the business you want to venture into. Compare companies that are into the same line of business and see how it will work for you.
5. Have a complete business plan.
6. With you complete and comprehensive business plan, look into details and choose people you will work with as your partners.
7. Register your domain name, Get a web host, Regsiter your business online, make your websites and look into tax details.
8. Add user friendly features like Add to Cart and other tools that would be useful on your site. This is what I call, Call to Action.
9. Use surveys to expand your business in the futurn and make app user friendly on mobile phones.
10. Control cost and expanding using social media to advertise like Facebook, twitter etc. By pursuing appropriate advertising online and using code tracking to know which mode of advertisement is effective will help reduce cost. Also with the warm approach marketing and dropping of your business card with detailed information will direct people to your site.
In summary, to become a successful online entrepreneur, we must be ready to do much reading, understanding and put the learning in to practice to build a strong SFI business.
