Great question. My recommendations are the following:
1. Lead by example. Do not ask your team to do something that you are not already doing, have done or are willing to do.
2. As stated in the SFI Rules of Success ... work with the workers. Be there side by side helping them to build their team. Educate, mentor and help in any way that you can think of helping.
3. Find ways to add value to your team. Do not be ordinary ... be extra-ordinary!
4. Be a teacher and you will find that you also become an excellent student. Continually learn and then share.
5. Recognize achievements and accomplishments. Send e-mails, team mails, e-cards, etc. Let your team member know that you appreciate their hard work and acknowledge their achievements.
