What are some of the best ways to advertise my business OUTSIDE of online social media?
I think there is great potential for SFI to help those in our local community and this is the area in which I wish to focus my advertising. And here I am talking about both Affiliate and ECA advertising.
And, obviously I wish to concentrate on FREE advertising. So anywhere where I can make personal contact with someone is my first aim. May I suggest you try the following: -
1. Select a person from your “warm” market. Prepare how you wish to promote SFI to them. Then make contact – ring them up and arrange a meeting. Then explain to them your very good, well thought out plan of how SFI could help them. Listen to their response and reply honestly and openly. Make sure you give them your experience. Show them what you are doing and how it is working.
2. Select a small business in your area and approach them about becoming an ECA. You may first request if you could sell one or more of their products through your own SFI website. And once you can prove to them that SFI WILL bring in more business ask them to sign up as an ECA themselves.
3. Look for any signs of a “depressed” market in your local community. By this I mean – people who are unemployed (like me); people who are being retrenched; people who are reaching retirement; AND businesses that are looking to expand; maybe an artist or crafts person, or hobbyist.
4. People might want to stay where they are but there is no local employment.
5. People want to improve their life/work balance and live in a “nice” place, away from a busy, expensive city. Speak to these people about SFI and how it will help them to do this.
6. I also wish to advertise on notice boards, most of which are free, and in the community newspaper (which is not free but has a larger coverage). Just something short, inviting them to contact me if they are interested in starting their own business.
If you sit down and think about it, and look around your local community, you will find that there are heaps of opportunities to advertise SFI.
But I also think online advertising is the way to start. And once you have some results from that, that proves SFI is a “winner”, you can start advertising SFI in your local community. People do want to see success before they will commit.
I should warn you though that just because you have recruited someone you know into your SFI team it does not necessary mean that they will commit to SFI. I have found that sometimes the person may decide that they do not wish to continue in SFI, or maybe they are not prepared to do the work that is necessary to be successful and they STOP. But don’t despair and NEVER GIVE UP. As you become more successful they may change their minds and other people will want to join your team.
