Facebook, yes not using face book is a great external communication means, reason Facebook has captured millions of world population. They are so use to it that 24/7 you can reach them.
Watsapp is also a platform in which you can train new sign ups by exchange of contact. Use it to explain to them how to follow SFI basics, Launchpad, getting started etc till they know it.
Emails has been an age long communication means. Do not ignore it at all.
Likewise; Skype, back planet, yahoo messenger, Google messenger, 2go, bloggers, pages,phone calls, 1 on 1 where and when possible etc.
