A product driven strategy uses data on the most popular selling items for this season and focus on marketing them right away without wasting to much time, as the season is already in full swing.
We have within TripleClicks over 800,000 of products to promote. A wise and comprehensive approach would not be about making a laundry list of items to sell, but, rather a focus on market niches, target customers groups and driving our sales efforts accordingly.
With this approach, product selection motivates the marketing strategy as it determines the market niches, the sales pitches, and the follow-up efforts. TripleClicks is the starting point, after searches are done to determine what products we want to sell. Then, we identify those products within Tripleclicks and move on to market them according to niche specifics, their features and benefits.
The second strategy, a customer driven approach starts wutg identifying what customers we target. We first need to know our customers. With such approach we can focus both on taking advantage of this season as well as building relationships with our customers on a long term basis. It is more advantageous, to have existing customer relationships to fully take advantage of our knowledge of their needs and buying habits.
A well thought strategy would to start now, and focus on building loyalty, to make the most of the current gift-giving season as well as of the future needs of our customer base.
