Your question at present is very important and relative in nature. I would love to answer it with my own experience since I joined SFI in 2005 for the first time.
On the outset, I would like to share my experience to everyone here since I joined SFI in 2005. I used to a New HP Desktop that came with a free inkjet printer at that time. Why I am going into the back ground – the main reason is the change in focus. At that time there was no focus on making money online. So, the focus was only learning as I was a newbie to the Internet.

I was introduced to SafeLists by one Mr. Ray. I am thankful to him till today. My focus was on learning & advertising my SFI gateways through Safelists & Traffic Exchanges. There was no TripleClicks.com and SFI use to have products like IAHBE, Health & Wellness Products, Cleaning & Washing Products. There were one Magazine also.
So, I used to print every damn thing I came across and made a note books of spiral bindings. Then a time came, I was in a big financial difficulty. I had to forgo my SFI business and downline as I became inactive in SFI. Despite of leaving the business, I was well versed with SFI business before joining in Dec 11 once again with New SFI ID. The first ID was in 07 digits and the latest was in 08 digits.
Now the focus is on learning, building downline fast and creating duplication among my downline. With the new Team Leader Qualification, it has become all the more difficult to attain higher rank, but in a way it would save on your spending as I may fall to two rank below, but my downline sponsored so far remain with me.
I need to concentrate more PSAs now and treat them as students for duplication. That is where from all the money will come. Merely having a bigger rank has no meaning now. The advertising methods would remain more or less same as Safelist advertising, Traffic exchanged, Solo Ads, purchasing PSAs directly or through S-Builder, Social Media advertising etc. etc.
Hope it helps you change your focus more on duplication.
