I present myself to my new affiliates as an assistant, rather than as a boss. I send out a welcome message offering my assistance, and a link to subscribe to an email training course, and if I don't hear back, I send out another follow-up email. If I do hear back, I try to encourage them as much as possible, engage them in dialogue, let them know I am there to help them build their business, and ask if there are any particular areas where they might need help. Those who are serious about their business tend to stay in touch.
Apart from that, I send out weekly letters of encouragement to everyone, active or not, using the PSA mailer and CSA mailer.
I rarely talk about my own business, unless it is to share an experience or method that has worked for me, and could work for them. My focus is always on helping and encouraging them to build their business and live their dreams, because that is what really matters to them. My own success is a by-product.
The best leaders are those who inspire, motivate and encourage those who follow them, whether that is in religion, team sport, business or even social circles. They instill desire and enthusiasm rather than fear.
Hope this helps
