The motive for prospecting is to sign-up affiliates and grow our businesses. Hence, it is of paramount importance to approach our team building efforts with the best methods so as to maximize our potential results. Only when we prospect offline will we restrict ourselves to a localized area. Any online advertising or marketing activity has the potential to reach wide and far, unless extra steps are taken to limit the range and scope of our campaigns. And, we should have valid reason for such restrictions.
There are times when prospecting offline will be more effective. In such cases, we are limiting our efforts to a town or a metropolitan area. This happens when we focus on our family members, our friends and business relationships, or specific local groups of prospects we have identified. Somebody who is not familiar with online marketing may find it beneficial to start offline.
There are advantages to focus on a localized area. We will have the ability to interact with our team members, person-to-person, visit them, reach them by phone, get to together with them in familiar surroundings, coordinate local team building efforts while using the same language. It is a good method to minimize inactive affiliates.
Besides such motives, today, even if we want to target an entire country, it may be more cost effective to use online marketing. In addition, some countries are very small, and one may quickly face the need to reach out to larger markets. One should not neglect this opportunity afforded by the entire online market as such approach may lead to the most cost effective strategy. Thus, we can aim at drawing affiliates from everywhere.
The diversity, size and scope of the social media offer great advantages. It is possible, if not easier, to aim at attracting affiliates from every corner of the world at approximately the same costs as if we were prospecting locally. It would be a lack of insight to ignore such a wide market.
Free online advertising and marketing tools can be used if there is lack or shortage of financial resources. Facebook groups, Google Hangouts and LinkedIn, just to name a few, are very friendly for such strategies.
For those who do not have yet enough online skills and/or experience, the resources available within SFI will be an efficient recourse: The S-Builder Co-op, the PSAs-to-Go, the PSAs available though the Pricebenders auctions, all these are excellent, cost effective means to start building teams.
A more comprehensive approach is to combine all the above.
