Preparation, preparation and more preparation!
Preparation is key to effective recruitment. As the late Ji. Rohm has been quoted do say, "failing to plan/prepare is planning/preparing for failure".
Everyone can be his or her best when preparation is done. As stated in many business books, the 80/20 rule applies to even recruitment.
Consider first what you home to achieve with your recruitment efforts: more PSA's, more CSA's, more PRM's, more ECA sign-UPS, a wide spread customer base ...the choices are endless.
Once your end goal has been determined, go to the beginning and consider what strategies will get you to achieve your end goals or close to them. Once you've identified the strategies then it's time to write your business plans...yes plans.
Your recruitment efforts are best to be diversified as one scripted response may not resonate with people so you have to keep on trying with a planned approach B, C, D and so forth. Never give up as every effort is simply your preparation for the REAL deal.
So do more by being more to a wide range of potential recruits - young, old, married, single, business professionals, professional students, business owners, unemployed, post secondary educated, street smarts educated and so forth.
Have fun and don't do less but more when you prepare as you'll be ready for anything that comes your way - that's being effective!
