Communication is always the key to your success in any business.
Within SFI, tools like Stream, Genealogy PSA/CSA/Team Mailers made available for you to use. When we were notified of new member in our team, we should respond immediately or within 24 hours at least, by sending them our welcome letter.
Samples of these welcome letters are also available within SFI. It is up to the individual to make use all these tools to communicate with our new team member. Get them from Tips section.
The most effective I believed is instant messages (IM), another platform provided by SFI. Not only our own downlines, we can also help our CSAs and a2a friends in need of help. We should use it to maximise our touch base with our new members especially. For out of the box information, we should read related topics at Forum daily, so we should inform our newbies how to get to Forum, to read, ask question or contribute to the Forum community by giving our very own answers.
Outside SFI, we have Facebook, LinkedIn, Google+, Pinterest e-mail and Skype to keep in touch. Skype will have the capability of video conference, so use it for group discussion. Webminars by Team Leaders is another great way to train your team. Considering the time difference and SFI is having millions of affiliates from all over the world, assigning specific time to suit specific group/country for the webminars is a way forward.
As you communicate, consider the following:
1) Be clear about what you want to express. What do you most want your downlines to understand. Convey only the core and significant, deliver it with clarity and thorough checks with correct and current information.
2) Sometimes, tact and good manners matters too. But please, don’t let good manners inhibit you from telling the truth. Dishonest communication will lead to loss of integrity and relationships will suffer. You do not want to happen within your team. Learn to develop tact and be compassionate in your truthfulness.
3) Diversity & common ground. We have different kind of team members from all over the world. Learn the art of integrating diverse viewpoints by identifying the common ground. Identify the interest of the person you’re speaking with so as to find the shared purpose, perspective, motivator or values. This is essential for rapport and consensus building.
4) Lastly, responsibility. Don’t blame others if they are not hearing you. Take responsibility to re-communicate to ensure that you’ve been properly heard.
Summarizing, communication within SFI or using external resources will be measured by looking at your active affiliates. Take responsibility not only for what you say but also for how you’re heard. Re-format your ideas if necessary.
