To be effective, do the following:
1. Build your self image. This builds your self confidence when you talk to someone face to face. It creates enthusiasm, which is a very important factor.
2. Build your attitude: smile while talking. It makes your prospects more relaxed.
3. Have the full details of what you are selling or sharing with your prospects. This kills incompetency from you. This will show when your prospects begin to ask you questions. Incompetency may not be tolerated by your prospect, so be prepared always.
4. You must have results to show. It is what you've achieved in the business and how much you have earned is what will determine your level of persuasion. You need proof. Your achievement in the business, is your proof.
5. You need to dress well. You need to dress corporately because your prospect will first access you physically before even listening to you. You need to dress well to potray the good image of the company that you are representing. If possible, purchase SFI/ TC T Shirts and cap with a good trouser or skirt to match. This will even speak a whole lot of volume for you.
6. Speak with boldness and confidence with enthusiasm. It speaks a lot of volume. I noticed this when i speak to my clients.
7. Take marketing tools along with you like Flyers, X cards etc that can speak more on your SFI Business.
8. Be time conscious. Be mindful of your prospect's time. He/she will appreciate it.
9. Be observant of the person you are talking to and identify what he/she will need from SFI. Is your prospect in debt or is in business or sells any products? This will give you a quick guess of what your prospect might need and how to solve it. This will buy time for you and make you extremely effective.
It works. I do it all the time.
