It is very important to try to really understand his/her perspective. This is THEIR Business that they are questioning. They have concerns, and they are legitimate.
Find out their concerns and ask them to list them. Answer them one by one, but don't use a sales pitch that is just canned pep talk. "winners never quit, and quitters never win!" is NOT an answer to their concern!
Quotes and pep talks have their place, but a person trying to justify continuing is not going to be motivated to keep investing time and money based on a quote. They need idea's!
Just by showing them you understand their situation by acknowledging their concerns, you put them in a place to listen to idea's and possibilities.
