Give them all the ways they can do it - with the advantages and disadvantages going with each method and let them choose which one works best for them.
You can not really tell them what to do because what worked for you is not necessarily what works for me and for them.
People like to have choices - so give it to them. You can tell them what worked for you but encourage them to find the way that works for them.
It is not important how they do it, it is important that they do it.
Once they have a team it gets a little more clear cut. They have to motivate, support, guide and teach their down line if they want to succeed. Following the basic rules are always a good start. In my opinion the best way to help them is to do what you want them to do. Lead, guide and teach by example. Have you ever heard this? do as I say, not as I do. Rather say do as I do.
