I think that each individual must play to their own strengths. Some of us are skilled at marketing on the internet and others are very good at talking to people face to face about SFI and encouraging them to join us.
To me, you must develop your own mix of the two - but make your recruitment methods stand out from the crowd. Placing online adverts and handing out flyers in person are two obvious ways to recruit, but what about using both online and offline opportunities in more creative ways? As an example, each e-mail I send out, both personal and related to SFI includes one of my gateway links at the end as a 'signature'. Similarly, I belong to a number of internet forums, (not business oriented), and each posting I make has the same gateway link as my 'signature'. I also belong to a couple of women's groups in the area - one business oriented and the other purely social. In both I adopt the same stance, seeing SFI as my own business and taking every chance, (without boring my fellow group members!), to tell everyone about the opportunities that are available to them.
In summary - Create your own mix and see every interaction, both internet and face to face as an opportunity to advertise SFI. Some people will ignore you, but you just might find your next Affiliate.
