I find your question very interesting because to be honest, I've never thought about what I should do to gain maximum support from my upline. So, its a challenging thought !
So, now thinking about it - I would suggest:
(presuming that my Upline is watching me on their systems...)...
Let my Upline see that I am a serious minded Affiliate, by
1.1. logging in daily, and following as many of the actions as I have time for.
1.2. investing in myself, by buying at least a S.O. for 1,500 VPs, so that I become and retain an EA2 status.
1.3. try as much as I can to at least 'do better' than my Sponsor, or Co-sponsor.
Keep checking on their 'badges' and seeing if I can 'duplicate' their actions.
1.4. ask my Sponsor and co-sponsor for help when I have a problem - or rather ask them where I can find it, if I fail to do so on my own initiative. (Seeing that there is so much information on SFI - in the ASK SC, or on the FORUM, it rarely becomes even necessary to ask my upline).
1.5. try my best to get involved with the GAMES, and the Auctions, and even try to introduce a few new local ECA's to Triple Clicks.
If I succeed in all this, my Upline will certainly notice their 'passive income' improving.. and will be only too pleased to be giving me their continued 'maximum support'.
