It's always best to know what an affiliate's expectations are before they give up and quit, so I would say that preventing this in the first place if possible, would be best.
You can easily do this with your welcome email or ECard by simply asking - "What do you expect from SFI?" or "What are your goals with this program?"
If your affiliate answers that they expect to be earning a million dollars by tomorrow, you have a great chance to discuss with them the reality of what SFI is and what they can expect.
However, the question is worded as if this is an issue that has already occurred.
Again, this would be a great opportunity to ask your affiliate what their expectations have been and educate him/her about the realities of what SFI can and can't do. You can also use this time to share any experiences or knowledge that there really is no "Millionaire Button" to push and get rich overnight.
If the lines of communication are still open (i.e. he/she is actually answering your emails or returning your phone calls) you can drill down and find out not only what they expected but what it is that they actually need.
Is there a financial crisis in their family where they need income right now? In this case, you would want them to know that this is simply not possible with any program on the internet (at least none that I have ever found) and that, since SFI is a business, they will probably not see any profits for months or sometimes years.
If he or she just joined to have a business but has become overwhelmed with information, now would be a good time to help them slow down, take a breath and work the program one day at a time. Remind him or her that a solid business needs a solid foundation and that is what they are building during these first months with SFI.
There are a million other things you can tell or teach - you will have to tailor this to what the actual problem or issues is with each individual.
Basically, you solve this issue with communication.
