Hi Mary;
I like your question regarding what I'm doing to help affiliates to become team leaders.
I saw another question asking when upgrading status to team leader was advisable and I suppose my answer here relates to that one as well because I think one should advance to team leader as soon as possible. I actually devote most of what I do in support with the intent of inspiring and assisting team leaders.
A horse that wants to win a race should get off to an early lead. Certainly there are often come-from-the-back winners but the majority of times the ones with the quick first strides are the successful ones. Towards that aim, I suggest people new in SFI to attain the highest rank possible when they have the start off AVP to assist them. I made it to STL in my first month and retrospectively, I should've gone even higher.
The main reason for getting to team leader fast and staying there is for the free CSA bonus each month. That's what I tell my affiliates but my own personal opinion is that remaining at EA2 makes a person feel they are on the bottom rung. Attaining team leader status is stepping up every month and I can't help but feel this is a powerful self-motivator.
So what do I do to help besides to encourage and motivate? I have a team coop that is free for anyone showing the initiative required to advance. I also make myself and my personal resources freely available to any affiliate that wishes to avail themselves of them.
For instance, I have an unlimited web hosting account so I can set up any number of domains. That means that all it costs me to give an affiliate their own free blog is to pay for the domain registration and that is a very small price for me to pay for goodwill and assistance. I also have web knowledge and internet expertise to set up a blog on their domain and to teach them to use it.
I suppose though that the best help I can offer is to simply be there to answer questions and/or just be a friend.
I hope this helps.
