Hello, Laura;
You are not alone. 90% of the people I encounter are poor communicators, mainly because most of them are concentrating more on what they plan to say next than they are on what the other person is saying to them.
The real secret to good communication is effective listening, or in the case of email communication, reading.
Listen to what your affiliates ask you (or write to you in their emails), and when you respond, first acknowledge that you understand what they are asking, then simply try to give the type of answer you would hope to hear from your sponsor, if it was you asking the question. That could involve something from your personal experience, or it could just be a few words, followed by a link to the relevant training material.
The exact words you use don't matter nearly as much as the relevance of what you say. Just speak (or write) as if they were your best friend, sitting at the table beside you. The more human you sound, the better, and no human is perfect.
Stephen Hawking manages to get his message across effectively, not because he is a great speaker, but because what he says through his electronic voice is relevant to those who choose to listen.
Hope this helps.
