I think it depends on your prior knowledge and experience. If you, like me, came into SFI with very little knowledge of online business, affiliate marketing etc, then at least for some time I would recommend sticking to the SFI system! There is so much training, community and experience invested in the system that it will take you some time to learn, and apply, all that you can!
If, or when, you are more experienced, and have ideas and strategies that you think will work within the SFI framework, then by all means try them out. See what works and what doesn't. It's an evolving system and business model and that only comes through innovation, trial and error!
Having said that, don't try to fix something that isn't broken! The system has been developed over the past 16+ years. You might be able to develop a better wheel, but you don't need to invent it! That's already been done!
