Do you really mean 'touches and strategies' or do you mean 'tools and tactics'?
As far as advertising and graphics go, SFI doesn't want you to go it alone until you reach a certain plateau in your business. In the beginning at least, you should stick with the banners and text provided in the marketing aids section. As for the strategies as well, you should stick with the recommended methods too. The difference to your business over time will more depend on your application of those methods and aids as opposed to the design of the method or the graphic.
You should also understand that SFI has invested some time, money and expertise in producing those aids and methods. They've also been marketplace tested and shown to work fine. Why would you want to differ from a winning formula? I should also mention something else too. A buyer does NOT always see something and buy it. They need to see it several times and that hold true with a banner as well. They might have already seen 12 other SFI member's SFI banners and suddenly they see yours and it is the final nudge they needed. If you had something else of your design, maybe that prospect wouldn't have recognized it and surfed on to the next SFI banner they find.
Just some thoughts. I hope they've helped you.
