Using traffic exchanges can be a bit tricky. Think about why people are there. Most of them are there because they want to drive traffic to a website they have, which implies they already have a business of some sort that they are promoting.
Will outlining another business opportunity in a page they are looking at for 8 seconds (or whatever) make them want to sign up? Probably not.
What I do is offer them something they are looking for, like another source of traffic for their existing website, or a tool they can use to convert that traffic more effectively, or access to good, free advice on running an online business. Then, after they have opted in to my mailing list, or joined my down-line at another traffic source, I can discretely mention SFI as my business opportunity of choice, with a link they can open and read at their leisure.
Having said that, I do use banners in traffic exchanges a lot, and with good results (they account for about 50% of my new sign-ups). The fact that they click on the 'Honey I fired the Boss' banner means they are still looking for a new opportunity, even though they already have one, and you usually get 20-30 banner views for one credit that would have given you one 8-second view of your main ad page.
And better yet, once they click on the banner, the gateway it leads to will open in a new window and stay open until they are finished 'surfing', so they can read it properly. That way they don't feel like they have to make a decision in 8 seconds!
Hope this helps!
