If you use TeamMail, you can use SFI translator, so that each recipient receives it in his own language and is more likely to act. But TeamMails are not saved by the system and if you want to save them you have to copy and paste to a separate folder. With group mailings this is not a problem as the message comes up in your message bank and one click saves it.
A big advantage is that with PSA Mailer you know it is going to a current email address and if it comes back undelivered, SFI is aware of it.
With sending messages to private email addresses, it is more personal, does not come up in the recipient's inbox as just another SFI communication, is automatically saved and particularly if you are sending the same or similar message to more than one, it can be personalized more easily. Because it is automatically saved it can be easily recalled for future use and is not lost like so many PSA Mailers get lost in the ether before being sent.
The biggest disadvantages are where you are sending the same or similar message to multi recipients, you have to call up a myriad of email screens unless you want your email address list public knowledge and is not translated automatically into the recipient's own language.
I try to use PSA Mailers as much as possible but often resort to private emails.
