My first email to them will of course be my welcome letter after receiving notification that they have joined SFI as an affiliate.
I would warmly welcome them and congratulate them for making a wise decision joining SFI.
The following are what I feel are the burning questions that the bulk of new affiliates have so I would address them first.
1. What SFI is about - I would give them a very brief rundown in one or two sentences.
2. Their role of Affiliates - again a very brief run down.
3. What what my role is as their sponsor. - I place a bit more emphasis on this to ensure that they understand that I am their 1st point of contact and that I am here to help them grow their businesses. I direct them to my Leadership page where it tells them a bit more about myself.
4. What to do now - They want to know how to do the work so I guide them to the Affiliate Center, to the Start, SFI Basics and the Action lists and red tabs. I encourage them to start on the Launchpad lessons after they have had a look around the site.
5. I also warn them out that there is a lot of reading and new information. This is natural for most new business and new jobs so dont be overwhelmed by them. Pace themselves and take on only what they can cope with.
6. Lastly I let them know that they can find on each SFI site page a translator if English is not their preferred language.
These are the main points I cover in that initial email and they are covered Very Briefly.
