There are specialised professional services available to that effect. Some of them may promise extremely large numbers. However the quality of that traffic maybe questionable, because of its low conversion rate.
That is why I personally prefer to do it on my own, especially because of the need to ensure the quality of that traffic.
Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is among the first methods and still one of the most efficient ways to generate traffic.
Next, social media sites, their business groups and pages are also very popular and effective tools to build traffic.
Third. advertising: it may be both free or paid.

Fifth, Safelists, Text Exchanges, Joint Venture Partnerships, Traffic Co-ops, Paid to Click (PTC) Sites, etc.
