If you are very good in computers and the internet, then I would advise it very much. If not, then I would advise learning about it. Although having your own domain is not necessary, there are advantages.
Personally, I am bored at seeing the same splash page, the same gateway, the same thing over and over again. Think about TV advertising. When a new advert comes on TV, you would sit up and really listen. It's not really about the product, but maybe the jingle is catchy, maybe the mascot is cute.
Translating it to SFI, with your own domain, you can create your own landing page (sort of), to capture your leads. And after several months, you can modify that landing page. Because people get bored.
There may be nothing wrong with your advertising but it's just that people are not really looking when they see the same thing over and over again. So having you own domain in this regard would be a plus.
