I don't think so. In fact, absolutely not, for me anyway.
I am 23, and many of my friends have never even seen a telephone directory! We don't even really always use our phones to talk any more. I know people who only use them for texting or surfing the internet. I don't ever use the "white pages" online, I just google someone if I want to find their phone number. Then there is the whole problem of caller id, and not answering a phone number I don't recognize. I figure if that is how I feel about it, a lot of other people are going to feel that way, too.
I think a lot of younger people are more comfortable with the internet, and would find it more appealing that you can target people who have already expressed an interest in making money online, because then you won't be annoying to your friends and family. Buying PSAs is even better if you can afford it,
I grew up around network marketing, and watched my mom try program after program, and saw her friends avoid her because they didn't want to hear about her latest money making venture. How much less does a total stranger want to answer a call trying to sell them something? All you need is a few people complaining to 800notes.com or one of those other sites where you can complain about telemarketers and your phone number gets in the spam lists, and nobody will ever answer your call. She tried calling people out of the phone book too, and that was a total bust. That is probably another reason I don't like the idea of that.
Developing a successful team first (with SBuilder, PSA to go, advertising, and whatever else) and talking to your friends and family AFTER you are established seems to me to be the best way to go. SFI is the only program that really worked for my mom, and that is why I decided to join.
