Hi, Snezana Vujevic!
It is very beneficial to personalize our advertising campaigns to specific target groups, using their language, focusing on their likes and dislikes, their common behavioral habits, the specific media they tend to prefer and so on.
I. The first question we need to solve is to identify that specific target groups.
It may be by using a (1) demographic criteria: identifying students vs. retirees, for instance.
We may also use (2) hobbies. For example this will help us target online game players to advertise the Eager Zebra Games, or those who bid in auction to advertise the Pricebenders auctions, or the Music lovers to advertise the "Song of the Month"
A third selection criteria may be "Country and or language"
I personally like to focus my sponsoring efforts towards few countries taking into account several factors including economic variables and purchasing power.
II. Where to Find these Target Groups?
First, online search is a prime source of information.
Second, Social media Groups offer us a good concentration of large numbers of people with special hobbies and/or interest
Third, special websites that special visitors based on the above criteria.
III. Content of our Advertising.
To be effective, it is very important to speak the same language, using the same idioms and showing the same interests as our target group.
Our advertising messages with hit the right targets if we are communicating the way our audience does.
In conclusion, advertising to specific target groups requires (a) clearly defining those target groups, (b) speaking to them with the language they understand and (c) reaching them at the places where they gather the most.
