Hi David,
In answering your question, I submit that the key consideration is the formula 126 MRP (Member Reward Points) = 1 TCredit = 102 VP (VersaPoints)
From my perspective, the most effective application of that formula is afforded us in DP (Double Member Reward Points) Auctions where we receive 10 MRP for each bid we make instead of the standard 5 MRP.
As has been indicated in a number of the answers to your question thus far, one of the usual scenarios where MRP is most highly prized is in re-attaining rank.
When I purchase 100 TCredits, that’s 1,200VP and when I use them in a DP Auction, I earn 1,000 MRP (plus 100 AVP) which will give me 7 more TCredits worth 714 VP of which I only need 300VP to re- qualify as EA (Executive Affiliate).
So, for those of us who seek to re- qualify each month, MRP is very important and we get the most out of it by managing it carefully to yield the VP we need to get us to our target.
Meanwhile, I continue to aspire to the time (later this year is the goal) that I will be able to save a substantial MRP total towards a few excellent shopping trips at TripleClicks! :-)
Cheers!
