The ECA program is one of various ways to earn income as an SFI affiliate, so it is good for affiliates who have the potentials or wherewithal to engage in it. It is very important to have the capacity and requisite skills in order to provide satisfactory services; before, during and after sales to customers, so that the competitiveness and integrity of The ECA program will be at acceptable business levels.
The ECA program is very attractive because participants may not necessarily incur some overhead costs or operating expenses, variable and fixed costs associated with physical stores because to a large extent, SFI/TC infrastructure provides cover for these. Again you can see that participating in ECA program has the potential of maximizing your bottom line as a direct consequence of the cost advantage to participating affiliates.
Another good reason to encourage affiliates is because there is the potential to tap into the huge market of affiliates and TC members who are also customers of TC. The availability of a ready and active customer base is a huge incentive in any marketing endeavour like the ECA program. This benefit is even more if you consider the fact that our affiliates who purchase from TC are encouraged by the benefits that accrue to them for buying products and services from like VP, commissions and royalties.
Again, as affiliates we benefits when we refer customers to purchases from ECAs, so there is this desire to promote ECA products to the outside world on behalf of the ECA and by so doing, ECAs will not only benefit from the huge customer base of our affiliates, but also a multiplier effect resulting from the potential number of customers each interested affiliated will expose ECA product to.
On a personal level, remember that your earn 10% royalty from qualifying sales of your referred ECA and 45% CV when your PSA make qualifying purchases from your referred ECA. This means you have the potential to earn 55% (CV+Royalty) from a single transaction between your PSA and your referred ECA, which is another good reason to encourage affiliates to become ECA.
Finally, it is important to bear in mind that ECA sales are part of SFI revenue and when you encourage affiliates to become ECAs, you are indirectly contributing to TC revenue, which is also where our shares in the TC Executive Pool come from.
To conclude, I will advice that we should not be encouraging every affiliate, especially those who are not capable, not competent and unscrupulous to become ECAs just for the sake of it or because of the potential benefits associated with it, otherwise we will be contributing to the lack of competitiveness and lack of integrity of TC, which will negatively impact on the executive pool to the detriment of TC and ourselves.
