Management, as far as your downline concerned, is to guide, assist and coordinate the efforts of your team members in order to accomplish goals and objectives using available resources efficiently and effectively, for the overall success of the team.
Managing the team holistically requires a different strategy from micro targeting or providing personalised attention to every member, so my opinion is set out below:
MANAGING A LARGE ACTIVE DOWNLINE
1. Send regular and consistent team messages on ways to continuously take advantage of marketing and sponsoring skills, referring them to internal and external resources where necessary.
2. Assist and guide them to all income generating activities, explaining the benefits of each while at the same time emphasising the need to concentrate on areas they have strength. Also make efforts to encourage them to improve their understanding in other areas of interest where they may lack understanding.
3. It may also be very necessary to provide a simplified version of SFI model, using a very convenient medium/media that will be easily accessible to your team members.
4. The nature of this business is very dynamic, so endeavour to direct and assist your team to resources that will continuously make them competitive and improve their awareness regarding changing event in the industry.
5. Do not just concentrate your efforts on your first generation, but frequently look deeper in order to be informed on the goings on, so that you can expand your reach as far as possible. With this understanding, you will be better placed to engage in holistic coordination and guidance as much as possible.
6. Organise physical and/or virtual meetings of your team members for frequent brainstorming and discussion sections in order to access the needs and concerns of all in real time, where solutions are offered.
7. You may also need to duplicate your management approach by encouraging your first generation to do the same to their downlines.
PROVIDING PERSONALISED ATTENTION OR MICRO MANAGEMENT
1. Concentrate on individual member’s VP Ledger of your Movers in order to ascertain where individuals may require assistance in order to direct your intervention to satisfy individual needs.
2. Acknowledge and reward individual performance in order to encourage motivation and self esteem because motivation is an indispensable aspect of personalised attention.
3. Open communication channels where individuals will be able to directly reach you for assistance, guidance and advice when needed.
4. In providing personalised attention, you may need to be proactive rather than to be reactive in order to resolve issues before they become too late to resolve, so be at your best to understand the potentials problematic areas in advance.
5. Be generous and selfless in attending to individual needs and concerns because personalised management will be more effective if built around trust and confidence of individuals.
I want to add that team management in this regard is somehow different from the traditional team management approach in organisations where workers-employees relationship exists. This explains the reasons why this opinion is adapted to our kind of business where we regard ourselves as individual business owners.
