I employ a couple of strategies.
1. I build lists of my Facebook friends. The first list is Family. The second is Close friends. After those two I list people by their interest, or our shared interest for why we are friends.
2. Being list sensitive and contextual I advertise to my list group based on their interest. I use a TripleClicks tool for link sharing and I am able to share meaningful contextualized content surrounded by contextualized ads. For example I share a video link to a youtube about pet care and surrounding the video are my ads linking to pet care products in TripleClicks.
3. I post to my family and personal friends list my successes in SFI. I won an iPad mini and posted that I won it at a penny auction. One relative posted, "I always thought those auctions were a scam" I said, come see my iPad. He wanted more info and so did other family.
4. I join groups interested in online advertising, online business, work at home opportunity, and other such things. There I post useful posts, not ads. I build credibility and then share, "here is how to write an effective email...link to site, surrounded by my ads. When I did this with my SFI business I achieved these results.... You can see my success by viewing this link... JMT.gateway link. They see my badges.
I have found these things very successful in FB, LinkedIn and Twitter.
