When you become the leader you need to be, you don't have to support subsequent generations. You will in effect duplicate yourself down through multiple generations. They should know and do what you know and do. This is duplication.
Over time things happen. So in order to maintain your income goals never stop recruiting. If someone decides after years to quit because they have saved enough money for retirement there is nothing you can do let them go. People die. Life events occur and that adds a new dimension to the equation. Don't rest your future on someone else's laurels or rest on your own! Keep moving and growing.
