For myself, I prefer to have my team members speak/write English. I can speak two other languages, though I'm fluent, but English is my mother tongue. I feel more comfortable speaking English and I'm better at it.
In my team I have team members who signed up in foreign print, probably on a foreign language keyboard. I don't recognize the print, the language, so I can't translate their names or communicate with them. Still, I send them mail, hoping they will understand my English.
On the other hand, I had a team member who didn't have English as a first language but they understood enough English; I made it simple. (They stuck around in SFI until their second month when it got hard. Run!)
I think it would help new and old affiliates to give them SFI Sponsors and Co-Sponsors who speak their language or they have active PSAs who do for reassignment. In that way no affiliate who doesn't speak the same language i.e. English wouldn't be left out in the cold. That's my opinion.
I hope I've answered your question. I wish you much success!
