Great question. First before we can find a resolve we need to look at the reason behind the situation or the "root of the problem" so to speak. I believe that when we consider a "Fear of Success", we can break this down to a fear of the results of success. Most individuals are quite comfortable and function at a less than optimal potential. But a fear can arise if the individual considers the responsibility that will be created when one is successful. Imagine working so hard to attain success, then afterwards now you have to work even harder to maintain it. Frightening isn't it? But to get past this I would consider the possible expected compensation for being a successful candidate. This is an encouragement and so too can be the 'status quo' that goes with success. If you want to consider the non-tangible benefits, you would recall the satisfaction that occurs when you help others to achieve their potential and become successful.
